Before your personal card, the year has its own. You find it by adding its digits: 2 + 0 + 2 + 7 = 11. In the Rider-Waite tarot, card XI is Justice; in the Tarot de Marseille, XI is Strength. In numerology, 11 is a master number, the number of illuminating intuition, which many schools choose not to reduce to 2.

- Add your birth month and day to the year you want to read. If your birthday is July 23: 7 + 23 + 2027 = 2057.
- Add the digits of the total: 2 + 0 + 5 + 7 = 14. That is your card: Temperance.
- If the result were higher than 22 you would add the digits again. In 2027 that never happens, as you will see in a moment.

Why only thirteen cards can come up in 2027
Your birth day and month add up to at least 2 (January 1) and at most 43 (December 31), so in 2027 the total always falls between 2029 and 2070. Adding the digits of those numbers can only give values from 5 to 17. That is why nobody has The Magician, The Moon, The Sun or The World as their 2027 year card, and why the cards in the middle of the deck, from Wheel of Fortune to Temperance, are the most common. The Star is the rarity of the year: only people born on December 30 get it. The Hierophant goes only to those born on January 2 or February 1.

There are two schools. Many readers use the card from birthday to birthday, since the calculation uses your birth day and month; others apply it from January to December, like the universal year.
